Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy

Diabetic peripheral neuropathy is a painful nerve pain condition that affects more than 20 million Americans.  Here at Desert Pain specialists we keep current with any new treatments that may be beneficial to our patients.  For many years, there were not many treatment options for people with diabetic peripheral neuropathy.  However, there are a couple recent treatment options that have emerged with FDA approval.  One of those options is spinal cord stimulation, thanks to a journal article that appeared in JAMA Neurology in April 2021 proving that high frequency spinal cord stimulation was very effective at treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy pain.  Please contact your Desert Pain Specialists physician for more information about this procedure.  Also, ask us about our free education class on peripheral neuropathy.
